This year for the first time we have invested in some outward facing marketing by attending both the Onshore Wind UK and the Future Energy Wales conferences, both hosted by RenewableUK.
Our stand at the Edinburgh conference was actually quite fancy! We even had a section of our industry leading lattice tower MET mast with a couple of instruments and a Campbell CR1000X logger on show.

However, for the Future Energy Wales conference we were a little late to apply and found ourselves as a bit of an outlier, with a table in the entrance foyer rather than the main event! You could say that this is true to the Solar Wheel way: we are often carving our own path rather than being bundled in with the rest of the pack!

One of our reflections having been to these two conferences, and something we’ve already fed back to Renewable UK, is that it can be a bit of an echo chamber; the same people from the same companies, regulatory bodies and so on, having the same conversations about the same issues. We thought it would be a great opportunity to bring the conversation to a wider public audience, perhaps having one ‘Industry’ day and one more public, open conference. This would be an opportunity for interested people to get information and answers from the people who are involved in trying to update and clean up our vital energy supply. Just our five cents though…
Maybe we’ll see you at one of these conferences along the way, please don’t hesitate to come and say hello!
